) <br />Tl¯!E SPRUĊ <br />MOOSE INN <br />ilo2 E.Pennsylvania Ave. <br />Roslyn,WA 9894]l <br />5°9 554-2966 <br />Commissioner Paul Jewell <br />Kittitas County Lodging Tax Committee <br />2015 West 5th Avenue,Suite 108 <br />EIIensburg,WA 98926 <br />April 11,2017 <br />Dear Commissioner Jewell, <br />We fully support the grant application put forth by the City of Roslyn for funds to finish the top <br />floor of City Hall. <br />A grant from the Kittitas Lodging Tax Committee would allow the City of Roslyn to create a much <br />larger Library space and a community center that will also be a venue for events and meetings. <br />As business owners and innkeepers,we are often asked if we will rent the entire inn to groups <br />for meetings and events.We have been approached about using our space for weekend retreats <br />by quilters,corporations,fish and game folks,writers,shamans and artists.They are delighted <br />with our accommodations and the catering possibilities from the Red Bird Café below the inn, <br />but when it comes to the question of large meeting space,and breakout rooms for small <br />discussions Roslyn fails miserably,and they take their business somewhere else.The new Library <br />design has created a wonderful,large,flexible,multi-purpose space.It would be a fabulous <br />support for both local community life as well as local business. <br />We enthusiastically support this project and hope you will give it full funding! <br />Sincerely, <br />John Macisaac and Kate Regan <br />Proprietors,The Spruce Moose Inn
