1.Project Description: Please describe the project in detail. Indicate the major work to
be completed, any milestones that need to be overcome in order for the project to
move forward, and include a comparison of existing and proposed conditions.
The Evergreen SnoPark Completion project enhances and extends park usage:
by increasing the parking area to include the majority of the 5 acreas from less
than half that acreage utilized today.
Expanding the usage to 24 hours per day 365 days per year.
Currently, the majority of the Park is still heavily treed and the County Conditional Use
Permit only allows daylight acess from December 1st to April 1st each year.
Project milestones remaining to complete are:
1)Apply and receive a new County Conditional Use Permit.
2)Log the remaining tree acreage.
3)Remove the debris, logs, and stumps.
4)Regrade the entire 5 acreas.
5)Apply gravel to the acreage.
6)Purchase and install CDX double toilet.
7)Purchase and install garbage disposal receptacle.
8)Purchase and install signage for conduct, maps and parking.
The SnoPark has been operational for several years and has completed:
Acquisition with title transfer.
Boundary and terrain surveys.
Improved parking road and recreational trail acess.
Project completion would allow:
Year-round day and overnight camping, plus...
Bird Watching, Cross Country Dog Sledding, Skiing, Disabled Access, Hiking,
Horseback Riding, Mountain Biking, Nature Walks, Running, Snowmobiling,
Snowshoeing and Vista Viewing for all ages.
1.Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan: Please explain how the project
meets the Goals and Actions in the Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan as
adopted. Also, describe the specific county tourism infrastructure needs the project
addresses and how the project directly increases tourism. Explain how the
improvements will promote tourism in Kittitas County and indicate specifically how the
improvements will directly increase economic activity resulting from tourists.
Goal 1- Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan:
Develop integrity of place - enhance Kittitas County’s geographical character by
developing and improving the environment, agriculture, recreation, heritage, and
culture in distinctive ways to differentiate Kittitas County from other areas and to
engender local community pride. This project introduces both residents and
tourists to District trails unknown except for snowmobilers for year-round
exploration and experiences.
Goal 2 - Kittitas County Tourism Infrastructure Plan :
Be market selective - encourage growth in tourism market segments most likely to
appreciate, respect, and disseminate information about the distinctive assets.
