(d) Shuttle buses.....A & A Motor Coaches bring marathon runners from the Selah Civic Center at 6:00 a.m. via I-82 to the Conference Building at the Days Inn in Ellensburg..... and the half marathon runners at 8:00 a.m. to the start in the Canyon. (e) Alcohol — None will be served. 4. Public Roads — Only local area residents, fishermen, volunteers and course officials will be permitted on State Highway 821 from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Passes will be available for those who need access to the road during the race. The Department of Transportation is working with us to notify trucks and other traffic of the closure. Spectators will be allowed to watch at the start, Thrall Road "T" junction and at the finish area. Bicycles (other than media and aid support) will not be allowed on the course. Signs regarding the closure will be posted at both ends of the canyon, per the request of the D.O.T. 5. GarbaeelRecyclinV_— One of the goals of the Yakima River Canyon Marathon committee is to "leave the Canyon cleaner than we found it on race day." For our past sixteen, successful races this has been accomplished, and the same steps will be taken again this year to make sure that this will happen. All garbage will be removed and taken to the finish area in Yakima County for recycling and/or disposal. 6. Insurance — A copy of our insurance coverage will be sent soon. 7. Penal Bond — 13oeid of Indemni — Because of the insurance coverage that we have, please ask the Board of County Commissioners to waive the 5.20.100 Penal Bond —Bond of Indemnity requirement. 8. County Filings and Registration —This race is sponsored by the Yakima Hard Core Runners Club and the registration fee for participants is $80.00 by February 28, 2017, and $95.00 from March 1, 2017, until March 31, 2017.....collected by on-line registrations, mail -in registrations to the marathon treasurer and late ones to the registrar the day before the race at Selah. Nothing else has changed from the past years when we've met all of the requirements of Kittitas County. In the past, we've had as many as 535 participants who have come from many different states, Canada and from various other parts of the world. We hope to have 400 (more or less) participants this year. We're planning another great event on an awesome course and ask for your support for the seventeenth annual Yakima River Canyon Marathon and second Half Marathon.
