Commissioners require ABATE to collect the <br />admission Tax, register online and report the taxes <br />collected by July 31, 2017. And, recommend <br />ABATE report and pay taxes for the 2016 event. <br /> <br />The applicant is requesting a waiver to the following: <br /> <br />Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.100 – Penal Bond – <br />Bond of Indemnity since the event is located at Silver <br />Ridge Ranch and the waiver was granted for their 2014, <br />2015 & 2016 event with no damage to any property, they <br />feel 2017 will be no different. <br /> <br />Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160 – Closing Hours <br />since their event is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. and go <br />until 1:00 a.m. and according to the County Code, events <br />shall not be open to the public before the hour of 7:00 a.m. <br />and shall remain open to the public until such time as <br />approved by the Board of County Commissioners in the <br />application process. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Event Application from ABATE of <br />Washington to hold the 2017 Spring Opener contingent <br />upon them supplying the County with a Certificate of <br />Liability Ins., naming Kittitas County as insured by <br />6/12/2017; approve granting a waiver of Kittitas County <br />Code 5.20.100 (Penal Bond-Bond of Indemnity) and <br />Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160 (Closing Hours- <br />Request for 1:00 a.m.), conditioned upon meeting the <br />requirements set out by the Kittitas County Sheriff, <br />Public Works Department, Fire Marshal, Auditor & <br />Prosecutor. <br /> <br />HANDLING: Commissioners Staff to notify the applicant and County <br />departments of the Board’s final action. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: ABATE of Washington Application Materials <br /> Correspondence from County departments <br /> Misc., supporting documents <br /> <br /> <br />LEAD STAFF: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board <br />
