Goals and Strategies
HOUSING AND SUPPORTED LIVING
Our goal is that people have the opportunity and supports needed to choose their
living situation.
Strategy A: Invite local city governments in Kittitas County to share how they are
addressing housing in their communities.
StrategyB: Make presentations to local city governments to educate about the
housing and supported living needs of people with intellectual and developmental
disabilities.
Strategy C: Engage with Kittitas County community development services to
conduct a land capacity analysis to identify how much land is available for housing
development in the county.
StrategyD: Identify ways to incentivize housing development for people with
intellectual and developmental disabilities.
StrategyE. Conduct quarterly meetings with the Kittitas County Homelessness and
Affordable Housing Committee to increase communication and knowledge about
the housing needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
EMPLOYMENT
Our goal is that there are a variety of sufficient employment options and the supports
needed for people to engage in meaningful work opportunities.
TRANSPORTATION
Our goal is that there are options for accessible and affordable transportation besides
relying on friends and family.
ACTIVITIES AND RECREATION
Our goal is that there are accessible, affordable, and supported options county-wide
for people to socialize and be involved in the community.
