KITTITAS COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY
Dear Board of County Commissioners
A quorum of the duly elected and appointed Central
Committee of the Kittitas County Republican Party gathered on
August 3, 2026, for the purpose of listening to four candidates
who had placed their names into consideration to be nominated to
replace departing Commissioner Wright . The statutory scheme
requires the local party to submit a list of three candidates
for consideration by the Board of Commissioners .
Our process consisted of each candidate being asked the
same set of questions and being given the same amount of time to
answer those questions . After the four candidates had the
opportunity to present, voting took place amongst the Central
Committee members present. For each round of voting that ensued,
there had to be a candidate with a majority of the votes to be
slotted into a position. Based upon the voting, we placed the
candidates as follows :
1 . Jeff Leichleiter;
2 . Josh Cox; and
3 . Jerry Lael .

Dear Board of Commissioners,
I am a lifelong resident of Kittitas County and a current resident of District 1. 1 am writing to you today to
express my strong support for Jeff Leichleiter to be appointed as Commissioner, representing not only
me and my family, but all of District 1.
I know many of the applicants, and like all of them, but I believe Jeff not only has our best interests at
heart, but that he will be an effective representative and advocate for our District. He has a proven
record of successes and leadership in his personal life that I believe we as a county can benefit from,
and would work hand in hand with you, our current commissioners.
If I had the opportunity to cast a vote, it would be for Jeff. I am asking you to please consider doing the
same.

The appointment to the County Commissioner District 1 position is an important decision, and I believe
Jeff Leichleiter is not only a strong candidate, but that he is the right candidate for this appointment.
His broad business minded knowledge and skills, strong work ethic and integrity, and positive
professional behavior demonstrates that people recognize his ability to represent their interests and
provide effective leadership to grow our county.
For these reasons, I respectfully ask that you support Jeff Leichleiter in Monday's vote and appoint him to
the open Commissioner District 1 position.
I believe he will serve the residents of Kittitas County well and would bring a strong, committed voice to
the Board of County Commissioners.

I am writing to voice my strong support for Jeff Leichleiter being
appointed to the open Kittitas County Commissioner District 1 position.
Jeff has demonstrated strong support within the Kittitas County
Republican Party (KCRP) and won as the first choice candidate by a
significant margin by the KCRP PCOs.
Jeff is approachable, easy to communicate with, brings business
experience, commitment, and has a deep understanding of our
community that is important for someone serving as a County
Commissioner. This position requires someone who is willing to listen
to constituents, understand the issues facing our county, and work
thoughtfully toward solutions that benefit the people of District 1 and
Kittitas County as a whole, and Jeff is the qualified candidate to fill this
vacancy.
