KITTITAS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />STAFF REPORT FOR <br />STUDY SESSION <br />Information Technology <br />STUDY SESSION DATE: 8/25/26 <br />TOPIC: Discussion of County Enterprise Al - GovAI <br />ACTION REQUESTED: No Action - Information Only <br />LEAD STAFF: Interim IT Director Zane Kinney <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />No recommendation requested. <br />BRIEFING SUMMARY: <br />The IT department has recently partnered with GovAI.com. GovAI helps government <br />agencies improve staff productivity and service delivery by providing secure, practical AI <br />assistance for drafting, summarizing, research, policy development, records -related <br />workflows, and operational decision support. It enables teams to complete routine <br />knowledge work faster while maintaining the governance, accountability, and public - <br />sector context agencies require. <br />The IT Department and other users have had positive experiences test driving GovAI's <br />platform and decided to move forward with upgrading to their enterprise -level package <br />quoted for $15k annually that offers further privacy and security protection, more Al <br />features, and improved user experience. The Central Services Committee has been <br />briefed and recommended the upgrade. Finance & Budgeting Director Zack DeHaven <br />and Deputy Prosecutor III James McCubbin have both reviewed the quote. The IT <br />department has signed the quote and plans to upgrade to the new version on September <br />1st <br />FISCAL IMPACTS: <br />$20k for 16 months; $15k annually after the first 16 months. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />GovAI Quote <br />Legal consultation?
