KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br /> 2026 STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br /> STUDY SESSION DATE: May 26,2026 <br /> TOPIC: Kittitas County 2026 Periodic Comprehensive Plan Update: <br /> Comprehensive Plan,Easton Subarea plan,Development regulation, <br /> and CAO update. <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: No Action Requested. <br /> BACKGROUND: In 2025 Kittitas County started its Comprehensive Plan Periodic <br /> Update and has spent the last two years engaging the public,holding <br /> open houses,public meetings,and Joint Planning Commission and <br /> Board of County Commissioners(BOCC)meetings. <br /> The Kittitas County Draft Comprehensive Plan,new Climate Element <br /> and Easton Subarea Plan were released for formal public comment on <br /> January 29,2026.The Kittitas County Planning Commission held a <br /> public hearing on March 17,2026.The Planning Commission voted 5- <br /> 0 to recommend approval. <br /> The Kittitas County draft development regulations were released for <br /> formal public comment on March 26,2026.The Kittitas County <br /> Planning Commission held a public hearing on May 12,2026.The <br /> Planning Commission voted 4-0 to recommend approval. <br /> SEPA review,comment period ended on May 22,2026. <br /> The record currently holds 3,218 pages with 62 formal comments <br /> submitted and expect the record to increase as we complete the BOCC <br /> portion of this process. <br /> Staff and Consultant will propose options/amendments to be presented <br /> for your consideration at the BOCC scheduled hearing June. <br /> INTERACTION: CDS. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: None. <br /> HANDLING: None. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> LEAD STAFF: Chad Bala,CDS Director <br />
