The briefing will focus on • Summary of proposed changes to development regulations • Summary of proposed changes to the Critical Areas Ordinance After the briefing,County staff and Kimley-Horn consultants will provide a brief introduction to a separate project that is kicking off in April 2026.The project is called Kittitas County Clean Energy Siting and Permitting (CESP) intended to review energy uses and impacts in the County. Details about the project will be posted on the project websitehttps://www.co.kittitas.wa.us/cds/ces aspx Summary of Proposed Changes These proposed changes focus on addressing recent changes to state law governing development regulations for counties and aligning with any changes proposed in the draft Comprehensive Plan.There are four attachments included in the materials for tonight's briefing that explain the proposed changes. Attachment A—Development Regulations Staff Report This document provides an explanation of code changes,state laws,and reasoning from the consultant, Kimley-Horn. Attachment B—Title 17 Proposed Changes The redline changes to Title 17 Zoning.
