KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br /> 2025 STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br /> STUDY SESSION DATE: March 30tt', 2026 <br /> TOPIC: Update: Periodic Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Direction <br /> BACKGROUND: The 2026 Periodic Comprehensive Plan Update process started <br /> in 2025 with public outreach,numerous comment periods and <br /> public meetings with the Planning Commission,taking testimony <br /> and discussions regarding the Comprehensive Plan Periodic <br /> Update.We have made significant progress throughout 2025 and <br /> into 2026. In January of this year(2026)we issued the 30 day <br /> comment period which ended March 2"d, 2026,taking additional <br /> comments on the draft comprehensive plan,the new Climate <br /> Element, and the Easton Subarea Plan. These documents were <br /> presented to Planning Commission at their hearing on March <br /> 17',2026,to review and formalize a recommendation to the <br /> BOCC. The Planning Commission voted 5-0 with a motion to <br /> recommend approval including 6 amendments. <br /> DISCUSSION: BOCC review of Comprehensive Plan. <br /> Intent: Set hearing on May 5tn for May 19ti',2026,Agenda <br /> Hearing on the Comp plan document only. <br /> Possible Options: <br /> a. Move forward with Planning Commission's <br /> Recommendation and amendments. <br /> b.
