STUDY SESSION DATE: September 8,2025
TOPIC: Kittitas County 2026 Periodic Comprehensive Plan Update
Briefing-Preliminary Draft Policy Review
ACTION REQUESTED: BOCC Preferred Method for Future Updates
BACKGROUND: CDS and Kimley-Horn continue to move forward planning for
our 20-year,2026 Periodic Comprehensive Plan Update.A
briefing will be presented to the Kittitas County Planning
Commission at their regularly scheduled meeting set for
Tuesday, September 9,2025. The briefing will focus on
providing the following
+ Approach to Comprehensive Plan Policy Development
+ Project overview, schedule,and timeline
• Overview of Initial Draft policies for Land Use,Rural and
Resource Lands, and Housing Elements
• Key Questions and Feedback
• Next Steps
INTERACTION: CDS.
RECOMMENDATION: Advise CDS staff as to the Board's preferred method for
receiving future updates.
