Citizen Comments (1 min. time limit) <br /> a. Discussion: None <br /> 3. Old Business <br /> a. 2026 Grant Application <br /> Grant applications posted for 2026 and due August 31, 2025 <br /> b. Youth Mentoring and Prevention Sub-Committee— Direction and Future <br /> Cameron provided the group with information on Handle with Care <br /> program and community survey results that focused on concern areas in <br /> gang violence, internet safety, bullying prevention, mental health, <br /> substance abuse, and self-advocation techniques. The group discussed <br /> recent gang activity, primarily in the City of Ellensburg, with some increase <br /> in affiliation in the City of Cle Elum, but not to the extent and violent nature <br /> as seen in the City of Ellensburg. Clay advised they are not seeing as much <br /> in the county jurisdiction. It was shared that the Rotary Club took on the <br /> Graffiti Abatement program and is a resource. <br /> The group further discussed direction for the Youth Mentoring and <br /> Prevention Committee. Members discussed the importance of keeping this <br /> on the forefront, encouraging members to bring information back to the <br /> group for awareness and support law enforcement engagement in <br /> community events. Clay shared that the focus and title of the group was <br /> initially developed around youth mentoring; however, it is not limited to <br /> that and can change. Members and Chair ultimately decided to de-activate <br /> with the opportunity to re-activate when identified area for sub-committee <br /> to pursue. Rich Albo requested this remain a topic of the executive board. <br />
