KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br /> AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> AGENDA DATE: July 28, 2025 <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing the Execution of <br /> Contract No. K2617 between The Washington State Conservation <br /> Commission and Kittitas County for the Voluntary Stewardship <br /> Program <br /> BACKGROUND: In 2011, the Kittitas County Board of Commissioners approved an <br /> ordinance electing to participate in the Voluntary Stewardship <br /> Program. This ordinance elected to have Kittitas County proceed with <br /> implementation of the requirements of the Voluntary Stewardship <br /> Program once the Washington State Legislature provides adequate <br /> funding for such activity. The Washington State Legislature has <br /> appropriated Voluntary Stewardship funds for the 2025-2027 <br /> biennium budget for continued implementation of the Voluntary <br /> Stewardship Program within Kittitas County. <br /> Contract No. 2617 has been provided by The Washington State <br /> Conservation Commission for Kittitas County voluntary stewardship <br /> program. Funding is on a reimbursement basis and is not to exceed <br /> $290,000 for the biennium. The County may delegate the work to be <br /> completed under the Voluntary Stewardship Program. Work has <br /> previously been delegated to Kittitas County Conservation District, <br /> which is again proposed for this biennium. <br /> The contract received legal review and approval from the Kittitas <br /> County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. <br /> INTERACTION: Community Development Services, Kittitas County Conservation <br /> District <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Resolution Authorizing the Execution of Contract No. <br /> K2617 between The Washington State Conservation Commission and <br /> Kittitas County for the Voluntary Stewardship Program. <br /> HANDLING: Return one (1) original to Community Development Services. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: Resolution; Contract No. K2617 <br /> LEAD STAFF: Jamey Ayling, Planning Manager <br />
