BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br />Proposal: A Road Variance from David Warren, owner of Parcel 723236, located at 1802 <br />Teanaway West Fork Teanaway Road Cle Elum, WA is seeking a variance from the 2024 Kittitas <br />County Road Standards 12.04.07-1: Minimum Driveway Standards for Grade and Width. The <br />Applicant wishes to vary from grade and width requirements to construct a new driveway to his <br />920 sq ft cabin. The topography through the properties owned by the applicant and adjacent <br />properties makes achieving 10% grade over the last approximately 200 feet. Onsite access <br />inspection states the access is 15%-16% grade for — 300 feet and is — 12 feet wide in areas once <br />on private property. <br />Proposed Mitigation: The Applicant has completed 2 rounds of Firewising to reduce fuels on his <br />property. <br />History: Parcel 723236 is located at 1802 Teanaway West Fork Teanaway Road Cle Elum, WA. <br />The property is located within the Teanaway Community Forest. The parcel is accessed across <br />DNR lands by use of pre -exiting logging roads. The Applicant has an issued Access Address <br />permit AA-25-00036 and a Building Permit BP-25-00247 from 2025. The applicant states he has <br />permits for septic and cistern. <br />Location: Parcel 723236 is located at 1802 Teanaway West Fork Teanaway Road Cle Elum, WA. It <br />is located in Township 20N, Range 15E, Section 02. <br />II. POLICY AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS IN RELATION TO REQUEST <br />The proposal is for a variance to waive the 2024 Kittitas County Road Standards 12.04.07-1: <br />Minimum Driveway Standards for Grade and Width. <br />III.
