KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES <br /> 2025 STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT <br /> STUDY SESSION DATE: April 14, 2025 <br /> TOPIC: Short Term Rental(STR) Survey Response Data& <br /> Resolution#2024-049 <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Direct KCCDS to draft a resolution to instruct the STR <br /> Committee to continue drafting a set of STR regulations for <br /> Kittitas County Planning Commission review and <br /> recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. <br /> BACKGROUND: On March 5, 2024,the Board of County Commissioners <br /> created the Kittitas County Short Term Rental Committee <br /> through Resolution 2024-049. <br /> The Committee met throughout 2024 and developed a <br /> community survey which was issued on February 4, 2025, <br /> and ended April 5 h, 2025. CDS provided the BOCC with <br /> an update on the survey results at the regularly scheduled <br /> CDS Study Session held on February 24, 2025. <br /> The Survey concluded on April 5, 2025, where we received <br /> 895 responses and provided insight into whether there was <br /> a need for short-term rental regulations in Kittitas County. <br /> These results were shared with the Planning Commission <br /> for their review and feedback at their regularly scheduled <br /> meeting on April 8, 2025. <br /> INTERACTION: CDS. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Direct KCCDS to Create a new Resolution permitting the <br /> Short Term Rental (STR) Committee to develop a draft set <br /> of STR regulations for public review. <br /> HANDLING: None. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: STR Survey Results &Resolution#2024-049 <br /> LEAD STAFF: Jeremy Johnston, Long Range Planner <br />
