WHEREAS, tlre Kittitas County Law and Jr"rstice Council was formed and operates under
RCW 72.09.300 witlr the goal of assisting the coordination efforts to reduce
crime between the state and local agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Law and Justice Council was created and continues to
operate as an advisory committee to tlre Board of County Commissioners;
and
WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Law and Justice Council functions as the meclranism
for vettirrg and recommending changes, irnprovements, and expenditures
of grant funds to the Board of County Comrnissioners, and
WHEREAS, the Kittitas County Law and Justice Council, by majority vote at their cluly
autlrorized and regular meeting held on November 15,2023, did approve
these changes to the Mission Staternent and By-Laws of the Kittitas
County Law and Justice Council; and
WHERHA$, tlre proposed amendments to the Kittitas County Law and Justice
Council's Mission Statement and By-Laws are consistent with state law
and sound public policy.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That the Kittitas Cournty Board of Commissioners hereby ratifios, approves. and
adopts the amended lvlission Statement and [3y-Laws for the Kittitas County Law
and Justice Council, as the operating document that shall govern tlreir work, as
attached lrereto.
