2025 STUDY SESSION STAFF REPORT
STUDY SESSION DATE: February 10, 2025
TOPIC: Annual Comprehensive Plan Cycle
ACTION REQUESTED: KCCDS Direction
BACKGROUND: Each year CDS facilitates an annual docket cycle as
prescribed in Kittitas County Code 15B to make minor
amendments to our Comprehensive Plan. CDS is planning
for our 20-year, 2026 Periodic Comprehensive Plan
Update, including consideration of suspending the annual
docket cycles for 2025/2026.
We anticipate significant changes to our Comprehensive
Plan which may pose potential conflicts with annual docket
submittals based on our previously adopted plan. Many
jurisdictions in Washington State suspend the annual
docket cycle during the year of periodic plan adoption. If
the Board agrees with this approach, it can be accomplished
through BOCC resolution.
