Bill DeHaven second.All approved. <br /> Motion 09.01 carried to approve the July 11,2024.meeting minutes as presented. <br /> VSO Update <br /> Eddie Vader, WDVA VSO updated the following: <br /> • Both VSOs attended the farmer's market. This time the booth was on the market path and had <br /> good interactions with the community. <br /> • Connection with Upper County Senior Center to engage with veterans in Upper County. Starting <br /> on September 17t",we will be available every I"and 3rd Tuesday from 10 am to 2 pm rotating <br /> staff. <br /> • Storey's Service Station in Upper County is now accepting vouchers. <br /> • Mr. Vader is working on establishing a partnership with Cle Elum's Safeway <br /> • Both VSOs attended the Serving Those Who Serve conference in Spokane. <br /> ■ Mr. Vader is evaluating the need for him to assist Yakima County. <br /> • Mr. Vader attended the monthly VFW meeting in Cle Elum on September 9 and was well <br /> received. <br /> • Mr. Vader attended the annual Resource Fair in Yakima on August 14"'. <br /> ■ Possible representation WDVA at the Walla Walla Stand Down on October 5"'. <br /> ■ Both VSOs will attend the Yakima Stand Down on October 19". <br /> • Both VSOs will attend the CWU Open House on October 9"'. <br /> • County is planning to be in the Veterans Day parade as well as participate in other events around <br /> the county. <br /> • Working on policy/procedure handbook. <br /> Other Business <br /> Honor Flight Presentation <br /> Annie Wilkinson(not affiliated with Honor Flight)presented to the group on the Honor Flight. Honor <br /> Flights started in 2005 with a first flight to Washington D.C. The nonprofit organization works with <br /> independent Hubs to achieve the Honor Flight mission.The program gives veterans the opportunity to <br /> 1 <br />
