KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> Board of County Commissioners <br /> AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> AGENDA DATE: October 10, 2024 <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Board of County Commissioners approval on an <br /> Emergency Temporary Hire. <br /> BACKGROUND: Solid Waste runs a very lean staff while running six different <br /> locations and has sites some of which operate 6 days a week. <br /> Unfortunately, Solid Waste has had two employees come down with <br /> illnesses that are requiring them to be off work for extended periods <br /> of time. <br /> We have had one staff out two to three days a week and will have a <br /> second employee going out for 6-12 weeks. <br /> The Solid Waste department would like to hire a temporary employee <br /> for 90 days to meet the staffing needs. <br /> INTERACTION: Solid Waste and HR <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Recommend Board of county commissioners' approval for an <br /> Emergency Temporary Hire for Solid Waste. <br /> LEAD STAFF: Patti Stacey, Facilities & Wasate Operations Director <br />
