Ellensburg <br /> Regular Meeting <br /> THURSDAY 9: 00 AM March 14, 2024 <br /> Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Jeff <br /> Leichleiter, Bill DeHaven, Gayle Scott, Ruben Cardenas and <br /> Ronald Ness . Absent: Kristin Ashley and Dennis Cort <br /> Staff: Debbie Stanavich, Clerk <br /> Others : Timothy Paxton, KC VSO, Candi Blackford, PH, Katie <br /> Odiaga, PH, Bryan Elliott, AU. <br /> There were 2 public present. <br /> Chairman Wachsmith opened a Regular meeting of the Veterans <br /> Advisory Board (VAB) at 9: 00 a.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Jeff Leichleiter moved to approve the minutes from February 8, <br /> 2024 . Ronald Ness seconded. Motion carried 5-0 . <br /> VETERAN' S SERVICE OFFICER REPORT <br /> Candi Blackford, PH gave the VSO update . They will be <br /> conducting interviews for the new state sponsored VSO position <br /> on March 21, 2024 . Two more local veteran' s have vetted in the <br /> system for services . The VSO office is on par for issuing 80 <br /> vouchers a month. They have had more than 70 appointments in <br /> the previous 90 days . There will be a special ceremony for <br /> pinning Vietnam Veterans on March 29th at 5 : 00 pm. Kristin <br /> Ashley is applying for a Vet Corps grant that would fund four <br /> local events for veterans . Public Health has received an <br /> official estimate for the door needed for the VSO office. It <br /> has been submitted for review. <br /> 2024-03-14-minutes <br />
