KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> Courthouse RM 201 , ELLENSBURG <br /> Special Meeting <br /> TUESDAY 6: 00 PM November 28 , 2023 <br /> Board members present: Bruce Coe, Michael Lundin, Joseph <br /> Pearson, and Pat Deneen. <br /> Not Present: Warren Taylor and Scott Carlson. <br /> Others : Mark Cook, Jamey Ayling, Darren Higashiyama, Dan Young <br /> and Jessica Miller and six (6) members of the public . <br /> Meeting was called to order at 6: 00 P.M. <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> CITIZEN COMMENTS (1 min. time limit) <br /> There were no citizen comments . <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> CONTINUED PUBLIC HEARING FROM NOVEMBER 14 , 2023, TO CONSIDER <br /> 2023 ANNUAL DOCKET OF COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND DEVELOPMENT <br /> REGULATION AMENDMENTS. <br /> Docket Item 14 — Fire Flow Requirements — This item was proposed <br /> by Commissioner Wright and the Fire Marshal . This item proposes <br /> to amend KCC 14 . 04 . 010 adoption of referenced codes to amend <br /> fire flow requirements . PLANNING MANAGER AYLING presented the <br /> changes and added language since the last meeting. FIRE MARSHALL <br /> YOUNG and CHIEF DEPUTY HIGASHIYAMA provided a presentation and <br /> explanation of the docket item. <br /> CHAIR COE opened public comment discussion. No public comment . <br /> CHAIR COE closed public comment . <br /> COMMISSIONER DENEEN moved to accept all the changes and <br /> recommend adding to #4 where it says automatic sprinklers for <br /> residential developments on at least 35, 000 sq feet in size, add <br /> `Non lots that average at least 35, 000 sq feet in size" and a <br /> recommendation that the WUI code is modified to reflect that as <br /> it shows in lots in #4, that we will not require sprinklers or <br /> fire flows on lots that are outside of #1, 2, and 3 that average <br /> at least 35, 000 sq feet in size .
