KITTITAS COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br /> AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> AGENDA DATE: April 16, 2021 <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: Discuss/Consider a Special Event Application for the <br /> Manastash Ridge Trail Run and Navigation Race. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Commissioner's office received a Special Event <br /> Application from Eric Bone to host the Manastash Ridge <br /> Trail Run and Navigation Race on April 17th and 18th, <br /> 2021. The event Application was received on April 1, 2021. <br /> The Special Event Application requests applications be <br /> submitted at least 60 days prior to the day event is <br /> scheduled. <br /> INTERACTION: Staff forwarded the event application to the following <br /> departments for review: Public Works, Fire Marshal, Solid <br /> Waste, Public Health, Prosecutor, Treasurer and Sheriff <br /> The applicant and County Representatives listed above were <br /> asked to attend the Special Meeting set for April 16th, 2021 <br /> to address questions/comments the Board may have. <br /> Commissioners Staff has been sharing the feedback with <br /> Mr. Bone as its received. <br /> The applicant is requesting a waiver to the following: <br /> Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.100—Penal Bond— <br /> Bond of Indemnity - The applicant WILL be providing proof <br /> of insurance & endorsements. <br /> The applicant does not believe they need a waiver to the <br /> following: <br /> Kittitas County Code Chapter 5.20.160—Closing Hours <br /> since their event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. & 8:00 <br /> a.m. and according to the County Code, events shall not be <br /> open to the public before the hour of 7:00 a.m., however they <br /> feel that the noise made during the 6:00 a.m. hour will not be <br /> enough to disturb the public. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Contingent Approval with the following Department <br /> recommendations: <br /> Solid Waste: Event Garbage Plan does not meet their <br /> satisfaction. They stated that garbage created in Kittitas <br /> County cannot leave the County and must be disposed of <br /> within the County limits. <br />
